Concept-Network Security.What made me choose this as my project.
In our College,the departments have 5 Servers and about 400 PC's.
No effective security in lab section
Possibilities of misuse are more
- Access to any logicl drive by user
- Accessing internet through illegal IP address
- Using Thumb-drive without proper permission
- Prone to VIRUS attack.
User's store large amount of unwanted data like movies, files, stills, songs etc.
Major problem is VIRUS attack.
User's tend to play games/work other applications,rather than concentrating on LAB Exercise o LAB Exercises.
I thought of stopping all this improver usage by lab users.
PROJECT SKETCH:
Groups are created -
Ist Year
IInd Year
IIIrd Year
IVth Year
Each group has 60 users ( say)
User name created for users.i provide rights which enables all users to get their right to use PC.
User's after logging in can work only lab experiments and access to other applications are not related to lab experiments are Blocked.
Storage Space Limit is Set-
Students - Right of 1GB
Staffs - Right of 5GB
User's can store data only in that space,when logged in.
Nobody can access that stored data without user's permission.
(Access to INTERNET,DVD R/W,FDD,THUMB DRIVE usage blocked. only with administrator's permission it can be accessed.
of course,if this project is implemented in our LAB it will be a misery to my juniors.)
